Soap Box

Here's a photo I took of some stained glass for my photography class. Just wanted to share. Now, on to tonights topic.

I haven't stood on my soap box in awhile, and to be quite honest, it's gettin' a little rickety. So, I felt that I would pull her out, dust her off, and give her a little excercise. Tonights beef, people who cheat.

I'm just throwing this out into the void as a random comment of moral character. What in the world would possess a person to act in a manner such as cheating on another individual? Alcohol? Bull s**t. It's a little thing called self-control. That one little thing will aid in the retention of ones self dignity and perhaps a little class. I just don't understand at all how anyone could get to the point where they lose control of their actions and then not even realize they have done anything inappropriate. You see examples of this on television as well as in real life and to put it frankly, I am sick to death of it. I know what it feels like to be cheated on, and that was a young 'puppy love' situation. How in the world would that feel now as a 20-something who has put their heart into making a meaningful relationship with another person? You know what? Screw that. It doesn't even have to be a meaningful attempt. If you're dating, you're dating. Keep your dadgum pants zipped. Be responsible for pete's sake and take responsibility for your actions.

There. I'm done.

we learned in Sunday School this week that it isn't the act of cheating that is a sin, but the thought that happened just before you acted on it. I was stunned. Anyway, I don't know what this has to do with your post, but it felt right to post it -
Cheating is one of those things that happens a lot in younger and less mature relationships - therman cheated on me, I cheated on him, but that was prior to marriage and now, that's not even an option, but apparently I'm still a sinner because when I see the Listerine Mouth Wash guy on television, the way he swishes his plague removing liquid so delicately, I think of a number of things I could do to him, and now I find out in Sunday School that I'm a big ole cheater :(
Anyway. That's all. I've totally went a little weird on this post and it isn't stopping, huh?
I'm hitting Publish anyway !!!!

Good luck in school this semester!
